Willie “Jerome” Shannon

October 13, 1972 – August 7, 2025

Willie “Jerome” Shannon, age 52, of Ardmore, Oklahoma was born on October 13, 1972, in Denver, Colorado, to Estoria McGee (Shannon). He grew up in Ardmore, Oklahoma, graduating from Ardmore High School with the Class of 1991, where he was a proud member of the 1991 Ardmore Tigers State Championship football team and a state shot put competitor in both 1990 and 1991. He later attended Cameron University, continuing to build on the discipline and drive that defined his life.

Jerome discovered his passion and gift for barbering at the young age of thirteen. Over the decades, he honed his craft, becoming a master barber and ending his career at Your Crown and Glory in Ardmore. To his clients, Jerome was more than just a barber—he was a friend, counselor, and encourager, always ready with a listening ear and a smile.

He met the love of his life, Bobbi “Jaye” Shannon, in 2010, and the two were united in marriage on March 11, 2017, in Ardmore. Together they built a life full of love, faith, and community.

Jerome’s devotion to service was evident in every area of his life. A proud Worshipful Master of Sunset 85 in Ardmore and an usher at Tabernacle of Praise, he served faithfully and led with humility. He loved his hometown and poured his heart into mentoring and coaching Ardmore’s youth, leaving a legacy of guidance, encouragement, and pride in the Ardmore Tigers.

An avid sports enthusiast, Jerome was a loyal supporter of the Oklahoma Sooners and the Dallas Cowboys. Whether on the sidelines or in the stands, his energy, laughter, and competitive spirit were unmatched.

Jerome departed this life peacefully on Thursday, August 7, 2025, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, surrounded by the love of his family.

He was preceded in death by his great-grandfather, Robert Cotton Jr.; grandfather, Jess W. Shannon; father, Charles “Poppa” McGee; and brother, Jonathan Wrenn.

Left in the caring of God are his loving wife, Bobbi “Jaye” Shannon of the home; his children, Tre’Von Lawson (Jordyn), Je’Tiva Shannon, Elijah Seals, Noa Seals, Ja’Tavion Shannon, and Goddaughter Jasmine Newton; his beloved grandson, Kye Lawson; and his mother, Estoria McGee (Shannon).

Jerome will be remembered for his unwavering faith, his love for family, his mentorship in the community, and the joy he brought to every room he entered.

“It’s always peace out, never bye, and it’s ‘In a Minute’ to my boys!”
