Sandra Kaye McMiller was a beloved wife, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, great grandmother, great-aunt, friend, and devoted woman of God. She was born on October 19, 1950, in Fort Worth, Texas, to Helen Bridges and Dock Boyd, and was lovingly raised by her stepfather, Sedgie Ray Bridges.

A proud Fort Worth native, Sandra attended I.M. Terrell High School and later took college courses at the University of North Texas, continuing her love of learning throughout her life.

Sandra was a dedicated and hardworking professional. She worked at Tarrant County College before building a long career in the aerospace and defense industry. She became part of the legacy that included General Dynamics’ Fort Worth division, later acquired by Lockheed and ultimately becoming Lockheed Martin. Sandra gave an extraordinary 36½ years of service, retiring in 2013. Her career reflected her discipline, loyalty, and strong work ethic.

Beyond her accomplishments, Sandra’s greatest legacy was the love she shared with others.

In 1994, she met the man who would become her best friend and husband. Though he was not fully honest about his age at the time, Sandra looked beyond that and saw his heart, personality, and character. Their friendship grew into love, and in 2002, she married Dion McMiller, her true love.

Sandra’s faith was a defining part of her life. Her sister, Jean Boone, introduced her to Greater Eleazer and helped guide her toward Christ. When Sandra accepted the Lord, she embraced her faith fully and lived it with conviction. Her life reflected a genuine walk with God—seen in her kindness, compassion, and generosity toward others.

From an early age, Sandra loved to read, sing, dance, learn, and challenge herself. She participated in spelling bees in school, a reflection of her intelligence, confidence, and determination that stayed with her throughout her life.

Above all, Sandra cherished her family. Family was her heart and her joy. She loved deeply and unconditionally, celebrated every gathering, and took pride in the accomplishments of those she loved. Her presence was a source of strength, encouragement, and warmth to all who knew her.

Sandra Kaye was more than a wife, mother, sister, aunt, and friend, she was a blessing to all who knew her. She was vibrant, strong, full of personality, and carried herself with grace and confidence. A true diva in spirit, she loved life, loved people, and made sure those around her felt that love.

Her life was defined not by her final days, but by 75 years of faith, love, laughter, strength, and devotion to family and friends. Her legacy lives on in every life she touched and every memory she created.

On August 3, 2026, Sandra Kaye McMiller gained her angel wings and went home to be with the Lord.

Though our hearts are heavy, we are comforted in knowing she finished her race and now rests in the arms of her Savior.

She was preceded in death by her beloved sister, Jean Boone, and other cherished loved ones who welcomed her home.

She leaves to cherish her memory her mother Helen Bridges, beloved husband, Dion McMiller; sibling Eunice Curly, her children Kimberlee Lumar (Jerry Lumar),  Kevin Hill,  Rachel Muhamma, Teresa Smith, Lawaysha McMiller,  Phillip Jackson, Terry  (Keyonia Mason-Jackson) ; along with her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, extended family, nieces, nephews, cousins, and a wide circle of friends whose lives she touched deeply.

Her favorite scripture continues to speak for her life:

“I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”

— Philippians 4:13

Sandra lived by that strength.

She loved through it.

She endured through it.

And now she rests in it.

Rest peacefully, Sandra Kaye.

Your work is done.

Your love remains with us.

Your memory will never fade.
