“God is within her, she will not fall.” – Psalm 46:5
With hearts both sorrowful and grateful, we celebrate the life and legacy of Rosalind Williams, age 60.
Rosalind was born on September 24, 1964, in Fort Worth, Texas, Rosalind was a radiant light in the lives of all who knew her. From her earliest days, she embodied warmth, joy, and the enduring strength of family. A proud graduate of O.D. Wyatt High School, Class of 1983, she remained deeply connected to her classmates and always held their bond close to her heart.
Rosalind served her community with excellence, dignity, and compassion over 28 years at the Tarrant County Housing Assistance Office, holding the position of Assistant Director for 9 years. She was not only a respected leader and boss, but a loyal friend and confidante to her coworkers, many of whom became like family.
On January 1, 2007, Rosalind endured one of life’s greatest sorrows with grace and unshakable faith—the tragic loss of her beloved son, Darrent. Though her heart was broken, her spirit remained unbowed, and she became a beacon of strength and inspiration to all who witnessed her journey.
Rosalind’s life was a testament to love—love for her family, her friends, her coworkers, and her community. She cherished every gathering, every laugh shared, and every moment spent with those dear to her. Her joy was infectious, her resilience unmatched, and her love everlasting.
On June 22 she peacefully answered the Master’s call reuniting in eternal glory with her beloved son Darrent DeMarcus Williams, and her cherished parents James Louis Williams and Easter Mae McDonald-Williams.
Left in the caring hands of God are her devoted partner Julian “Dean”; treasured grandchildren Darius and Jaelyn Williams; and loving stepchildren Jasmine, Jaden, and Adian. She is lovingly remembered by her siblings: Patricia (Michael), James Earl, Stanley (Lina), Carol, Paula, and Michael Sr. (Monette).
A beloved aunt, Rosalind’s legacy lives on through her many cherished nieces and nephews: Demond (LaTresa), Rodney, Mekeishia (Paulus), Tiffany, Cynetrea “CC” (Kent), Clifford “Dante”, DeAngelo, KeeTwana, Richie Jr., Sharell, Chasity (Byron), Shaniece, Stanley Jr., Reginald, Amaya, Ayannah, and Michael III.
Her nurturing spirit also remains alive in a host of great-nieces and great-nephews, cousins, extended family, and dear friends. Each carries a piece of her heart and will forever be touched by her gentle presence, her genuine kindness, and her unfailing devotion.
Though Rosalind has gone to a land that will never grow old, her legacy of love, grace, and perseverance will continue to shine brightly in all of us. We find peace in knowing that she now rests in heavenly peace—her spirit free, her joy complete, her reunion divine.
Well done, good and faithful servant.
