Lashawn Renay
Byrd
Aug 28, 1967 — Aug 13, 2026
Fort worth
Life Story
Lashawn Renay Byrd was born on August 28, 1967, in Wichita Falls, Texas, to parent who preceded her in death Ethel Byrd.
Lashawn received her education through the Fort Worth Independent School District, attending R.L. Paschal High School and P.L. Dunbar High School. She later dedicated herself to caring for others through her work as a home health aide, where she served with compassion and a loving heart.
Lashawn was a faithful member of Greater St. Mark Church. She worshiped under the leadership of the late Roosevelt Roberts and continued her faith journey under the leadership of Bishop Mark Kirkland.
Lashawn was a beautiful soul who loved dancing, singing, shopping, and, most of all, spending time with her family and friends. She was known for her vibrant personality, joyful spirit, and ability to bring laughter and happiness wherever she went. She was truly the life of the party, and her presence could light up any room.
Lashawn leaves to cherish her precious memories her longtime spouse, Douglas Carter; her daughters, Shquentha “Shay” Byrd and Shawnqunet “Shunky” Carter; and her four beloved grandchildren, Ayhleah Parker, Amiyah Parker, Amari Parker, and K’Yanni Stearns.
She is also survived by her two brothers, Donell Byrd and Richard Byrd; four nieces; two nephews; and a host of loving family members and friends who will forever treasure the memories they shared with her.
Though Lashawn has departed this earthly life, the love, laughter, joy, and memories she gave to those around her will remain in their hearts forever. Her life was a blessing, her memory a treasure, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
