Laquetta Wesson

Laquetta Wesson was born on September 26, 1981, in Rockford, Illinois, to Jacqueline Wesson and Clayborn Wesson. Her life was a journey filled with family, meaningful relationships, and service to others.

Laquetta received her education at Teresa B. Lee Academy, where she graduated and continued forward into adulthood. She later entered the field of home health care, dedicating her working years to helping and caring for others. Through her work, Laquetta had the opportunity to provide care and assistance to individuals and families in need.

On August 4, 2026, Laquetta departed this earthly life, leaving precious memories that will continue to live in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. She was proceded in death by her oldest son Zayeln.

Left to cherish her memory are her beloved children, Zakylan Kelly and Zalayiah Simmons; and the precious grandchild she was joyfully awaiting and looking forward to welcoming into the world; her loving mother, Jacqueline Wesson; her father, Clayborn Wesson; and her grandmother, Bernice Minter. She also leaves to cherish her memory a host of extended family members, friends, loved ones, and all whose lives were touched by her presence.

Although Laquetta’s earthly journey has come to an end, the memories created during her 44 years of life will remain. Her family will carry those memories forward, remembering the daughter, mother, granddaughter, relative, friend, and caregiver who will forever hold a special place in their hearts.Her life was a gift, her memory a treasure,and her love will remain in the hearts of her family forever.
